BERLIN, CT – May 23, 2023, AVNA, a contract manufacturer of components and subassemblies for global Original Equipment Manufacturers in the Medical Device markets, is pleased to announce the promotion of Kai Chau to the role of Senior Laser Process Engineer – R&D.
In his new role, Chau will lead internal and external R&D, prototyping, and continuous improvement activities for all laser processes including Laser Cutting, Laser Welding, and Laser Marking & Surface Treatment. He will also lead the efforts in developing robust and efficient laser processes and managing the transfer of R&D projects to our NPD/Project Management teams.

Chau joined AVNA in 2014, as a Laser Process Engineer. Prior to that, he worked for Reliance Laser/Reliance Laser Systems where he was responsible for supporting many aspects of laser operations. A 2010 Mechanical Engineering graduate from the University of Massachusetts, Chau now resides with his family in Burlington, CT.
